Do Activated Carbon Filters remove THC from the smoke?
Like all methods of filtration, some THC will be lost smoking through Activated Carbon. However, we feel there is plenty of THC to go around and it best to remove as much of toxic compounds as possible.

What is Activated Carbon?
Activated Carbon is used in a variety of applications, from odor control to toothpaste. This filter media works through ADsorption not ABsorption, where contaminates chemically bind to its surface instead of throughout its volume. The small carbon granules, made from coconut husk, are "activated" through a chemical etching process which increases surface area and maximizes filtration capabilities.

How long will an Ember Rolling Tip and Filter Media last?
Our Reusable Rolling Tips are designed to last a lifetime being made from Medical Grade, 316 Stainless Steel. The Activated Carbon Filter Media will eventually become saturated with wax and tar, but last 1-3 sessions depending on usage. However, as the filter media is entirely natural, it can be easily discarded and replaced. Each ounce of our Activated Carbon Filter Media will fill the Reusable Rolling Tip about 150 times.
